Most fans didn’t give Wolves Esports much credit heading into the tournament. As the third seed from VCT China, expectations were low. Many predicted an early exit. But Wolves defied the odds, silencing critics with bold performances, undeniable talent, and a strong stage presence. Gen.G, on the other hand, entered as the VCT Pacific second seed, backed by a star-studded roster and a burning desire to claim another title after their 2024 triumph in Shanghai. Now, the question remains: which team will rise above today?

Map 1: Split
Despite trailing 0–6, Wolves kept putting up a fight every round, igniting the crowd in Toronto. The energy was electric, and even Gen.G could feel the momentum shift. Wolves eventually clawed their way to three crucial rounds, triggering what fans call the infamous 3–9 curse — a VALORANT superstition that suggests a team down 3–9 at halftime is destined for a comeback. Fueled by the belief and the roaring crowd, the Wolves were determined to make the curse come true and close the gap on the scoreboard.
And when the game started to feel lost, Wolves just pulled a 10-11 on Gen.G. Wolves were feeling Canada’s good vibes because it didn’t take long for them to draw the game and even get in front of the score. This map was just a phenomenal comeback from the Chinese team. SiuFatBB was farming the crowd’s applause every time!

Just like in the previous map, Wolves found themselves in a rough start, falling behind 0–5. But their confidence never wavered. They kept the crowd fired up, feeding off the energy and slowly putting rounds on the board. The second half marked a turning point. Wolves came out swinging, gaining momentum with each round. On a stage where there was no room for error, they played like there was nothing to lose. The comeback was on, and Gen.G struggled to find an answer to the relentless pressure.
The comeback was truly remarkable. Everyone struggled with their shots against Wolves Esports. This performance at VALORANT Masters Toronto silenced the doubters. Absolutely unbelievable!
