After playing his last football game in 2021,Cam Newtonhas kept busy with his girlfriend Jasmin Brown.
The former NFL player first stepped out publicly with Brown — a comedian and actress — atMilan Fashion Week in 2022. Two years later, in March 2024, the couple welcomed their first child together.
Newton spoke about his relationship with Brown while interviewing rapperKash Dollon his podcastFunky Friday with Cam Newtonin July 2023.
“I like talking. We’re in tune. I’m so in tune that there’s nothing we can’t talk about. I think that’s what’s most important,” Newton said. “There’s no hiding, nothing."

She grew up in Florida

Brown was born in Takoma Park, Maryland as the youngest of four children. She grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she developed an interest in acting, comedy and creating characters.
Her parents couldn’t afford to put her in acting class, so she acted in local plays at her church and found other creative ways to explore her passion.
“I would get an allowance every week for doing my chores, and I would buy wigs and props and things, to turn myself into a different character. From there, the personalities were like, subconsciously being created, you know?” Brown said in a 2023 interview withRough Draft Atlanta.

The performer is also a stand-up comedian and used her combined acting and comedy chops to create the character Toya Turnup on social media. Brown toldSheen Magazinein 2023 that she created the raunchy persona based on women she saw while growing up in South Florida.
The character became so popular that Brown would open comedy shows as herself, have another act and then headline the show as Turnup.
“Somebody reached out to me and was like, we want you to do stand-up … and I was like no! I’m a serious actor!” Brown toldRough Draft Atlanta. “And [they] were like, well what if you do it as your character, so then you’d technically be acting? And I was like, okay! I ended up doing it as my character Toya Turnup.”

The former quarterback split from his girlfriendKia Proctoraround the end of 2019, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic halted most public events. Once public gatherings resumed, in 2022, the Heisman Trophy winner stepped out with his new girlfriend, Brown, at Milan Fashion Week.
She shares one child with Newton

In June 2020, Newtonposted on Instagramabout his love of fatherhood.
“I’m a proud father of seven. A daddy isn’t defined as the man who makes the child (not in all instances), but rather a man who extends his hands and time to help with the child’s raising,” he wrote in the caption. “Blood doesn’t always make you daddy. Being a dad comes from the heart.”
She is excited about parenting with Newton
Brown has shared that she was thrilled with how Newton embraced her family as the couple prepared to welcome their first child.
“Being in a relationship with a person who is extremely family oriented will encourage you to get closer with yours… I’ve always been tight with my family but I’ve never had anyone embrace my family the way [Newton] does,” Brown wrote onX (formerly Twitter)in May 2023.
“What excites me the most about motherhood is the fact that I get to go hard for a person that I’ll love with all my life. Everyone that knows me, knows I’m a GIVER,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m excited to pour all this love I have into my child. I think becoming a mom will honestly complete me. I am truly overjoyed. We already have a special bond from the womb… I am ALL IN.”

Newton has said that he and Brown are very close, even joking on his podcast that they go to the bathroom together.
“First off, with me and mine, she already know. It ain’t no privacy,” Newton said on his podcastFunky Friday with Cam Newton. “We in there together. That’s our thing. I know this is TMI, but that’s my dawg.”
Brown has also expressed that she feels totally comfortable sharing anything and everything with Newton.
“Being able to openly talk to your partner about any and everything without jealousy or judgment is the biggest flex. #iLoveitHere,” Brown wrote onX (formerly Twitter).
