This summer, the Esports World Cup 2025 event will happen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. VALORANT, League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics joined the Esports World Cup in a three-year partnership with Riot Games to make this happen. The competition will occur between July 8 and July 13. It will start with the Group Stage featuring 16 teams. Here is the schedule of each phase of the tournament.

Format
On the first day of the Group Stage, there will be 12 matches. The group’s distribution has yet to be announced. In the second and third games, there will be four matches respectively to determine the eight teams that will go to the Playoffs. Then, the teams will face each other in elimination matches until the last two reach the Grand Finals.
EWC Foundation reveals 40 clubs selected for $20 million Club Partner Program
The 40 clubs reach over 300 million fans worldwide and will share $20 million in funding this year.

There is still no information about the prize pool for the event. Only League of Legends has had a $2 million prize pool announced. As for the participating teams, they have yet to be announced by the organizers.

You can expect the return of many known games from last year’s event, including Overwatch 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, and Apex Legends. Chess, VALORANT, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, CrossFire, and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves are some of the surprise games joining the competition in 2025.
