The Strong National Museum of Play has announced the 15 finalists nominated to be inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

Following “thousands” of votes from over 100 countries around the world, the final winners will be announced during a ceremony at The Strong museum, New York, on June 23, 2025.

“These 15 World Video Game Hall of Fame finalists span decades, gaming platforms, and countries of origin—but what they all have in common is their undeniable impact on the world of gaming and popular culture,” said Jon-Paul C. Dyson, director of The Strong’s International Center for the History of Electronic Games.

“Whether it’s an iconic game likeThe Legend of Zelda, a pioneering educational title likeThe Oregon Trail, or an innovator likeElite, which forever changed the design and development of other games, they’re among the most influential games of all time.”
