When used, Tattoos actually modify an Attribute Passiveon your Skill Tree, replacing its effect with a unique bonus.
There’s a variety of Tattoos, making it so there’s probably at least one useful Tattoo for every build. This is everything you need to know aboutPath of ExileTattoos explained.

How to get Tattoos inPath of Exile
to access Tattoos inPath of Exile, you must first unlock the 3.22Trial of the Ancestorsleague mechanic. To do so, you must obtain a Silver Coin. These are typically by enemies you kill, especially Elite ones. Once you have a Silver Coin, you can right-click it to access a portal to The Halls of the Dead.
Once in the Halls of the Dead, you will see a Well you can interact with to enter the spirit realm. Upon doing so you will see various NPCs, each representing their own unique tribe. Each tribe has its own unique Tattoos themed around their tribe, as well.

If you head to the southeast corner of the Halls of the Dead you will find The Eye of Destiny. This is the new arena-style league mechanic ofPath of Exile3.22. Once you enter The Eye of Destiny you will see a list of Tribes you may fight, as well as their rewards. Some of the rewards include Tattoos, which is the primary way of obtaining them inTrial of the Ancestors.
How do you use Tattoos inPoE?
Once you have acquired a Tattoo that you want to use, it’s easy to do so. Simply right-click on it then choose which Passive Skill on your Skill Tree you want to replace with it.
Keep in mind the Passive Skill will have to match what is required on the Tattoo. For example, the Tattoo of the Tukohama Shaman replaces Small Strength Passive Skills with 15 Life Regenerated Per Second. Therefore, you have to put the Tattoo on a Small Strength Passive Skill or it will not work.

Also, you may only have one Notable Tattoo per Attribute, so keep that in mind when figuring out what Tattoos to go for.
Can you remove Tattoos inPath of Exile?
If you make a mistake or simply decide you want to remove a Tattoo, you do have that option. All it takes to remove a Tattoo is a single Orb of Regret.
Orb of Regrets are typically used to get Refund Points to reset your skills on the Skill Tree. However, you can also use one to remove a Tattoo.

For now, it appears there is a limit of only 50 Tattoos in total across your entire Skill Tree, so ensure you choose wisely where to put them.
