Go play some ranked

In case you missed it,Overwatchis following the popular “seasonal” method of ranked play, which is used by Blizzard in several of their games already.

In short there’s a certain period of time that a season will run, which will feature some sort of unique reward to encourage players to finish out each one. The gist is that everyone gets reset and you may work your way up without feeling like you’re “down” for a significant period of time. It’s a great idea, but there were some flaws in the first season, which Blizzard intends to address in season 2, which is now live across all platforms.

Now rankings are on a large spread scale to 5000, so there’s going to be an easier way to see exactly how you’re squaring up against others — skill tiers also break this down further, and restrict groups accordingly. Sudden Death is now gone (thank goodness), and a “time bank” system will reward teams beyond forcing a tiebreaker match. Leavers will also have to wait 10 minutes to re-queue, and Blizzard is cracking down now, possibly issuing suspensions or season long bans.

Hopefully they continue to refine the system, but it’s looking good presently, as they fixed most of my issues with the first season.
