Netflix wants Netflix on every device, including consoles not-named-Xbox 360. In a recent interview with Reuters, CEO Reed Hastings talked big about wanting the rental service “on all game consoles,”despite having an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft. “Eventually, we want to be on all game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs,” said Hastings. “So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts.”
“Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that,” he said.
It’s not over PS3 and Wii owners. No need to push thoseplatform-specific surveysor casually-dropped hints out of mind quite yet. Netflix seems set on plopping their service onto other platforms.
