NAVI move on to the semifinals of BLAST Premier Spring Finals.

After a thrilling series that saw many ups and downs, NAVI defeated FaZe Clan to top Group A. The team’s performance came on the back of a spectacular comeback on Mirage where they were down 0-7 and things were looking dire. But a comeback that surprised everyone saw NAVI emerge victorious booking their spot in the semifinals of BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2024. esports.gg caught up with iM right after the victory talking about their performance and the team’s recent results.

Different Pillars of strength

NAVI won two maps in the series, and in each map a different player was popping off. While Dust 2 saw b1t step up for the team and dominate the server, it was the w0nder show on Mirage. NAVI fans were of course thrilled to see the exciting comeback by the CIS squad after being down 0-7. iM credited the players’ performance to the NAVI system that does not focus on enabling one single player.

Everytime a different player on our team pops up, because we don’t play for one player. Everyone can pop up on our time, doesn’t matter whether it’s me, AleksiB, B1t or anyone else. Everyone can pop off. We just need to play our game, to play to maximum impact and according to whatever we said (decided) and that’s it.

The 0-7 comeback

It is these moments like the 0-7 comeback that truly defines great teams. Today, with their CT side performance on Mirage, NAVI stepped up and showed their fans why they should never lose hope.

We played our game, it didn’t work out that well in the first seven rounds. But at one point, AleksiB said, it doesn’t matter. The situation doesn’t look as bad as the score looks. Because we lost a few rounds because of very very small mistakes. After that we played very good, we still trusted each other and it ended up being a good map for us.

Despite being 0-7 down, it was due to very very small mistakes that they were unable to win rounds. As the team’s IGL, AleksiB stepped up to motivate the squad to continue playing with confidence and the results are there for all to see.

Did NAVI manage to surprise Astralis with the Dust 2 pick? They move on to the winners’ match next against FaZe.

NAVI come into this event after two lacklustre results at ESL Pro League Season 19 as well as IEM Dallas 2024. While they lost to FaZe Clan at ESL Pro League Season 19, their loss to HEROIC at IEM Dallas was probably the more shocking one. Speaking on their recent results iM said the team had a lengthy discussion about their Dallas performance. The team hopes to finish the season on a high and a positive note.

We had a discussion about this before. I’ve said this before, I think only the Dallas tournament was a bit of a failure because we lost to HEROIC. But in EPL, we lost to FaZe. They are a very very good team and very hard to play against. Obviously, we discussed after IEM Dallas, we discussed what we need to do to play good and end the season with a good performance.

The winner of the BLAST Premier Spring Finals will receive an invitation to the World Finals later this year. In addition, there is also a substantial prize pool on offer for the winning team.

AStralis will face the loser of FaZe and NAVI next.
