Missouri awards direct mobile sports betting licenses to DraftKings and Circa Sports, leaving FanDuel out.

The Missouri Gaming Commission has awarded the state’s two direct mobile sports betting licenses to DraftKings and Circa Sports.

The commission approved both operators to launch statewide onceMissouri’s sports betting marketgoes live. These licenses enable DraftKings and Circa Sports to operate independently. They won’t require a partnership with a casino or professional sports team.

Missouri is slated to launch mobile sports betting on Aug 13, 2025, pending final regulatory approvals. DraftKings and Circa Sports plan to debut their online sportsbooks on the same day.

Circa Sports has distinguished itself bywelcoming large wagers from professional bettors, often called “sharps.” During its pitch to state regulators, however, the company acknowledged it may generate less tax revenue for Missouri than its competitors.

FanDuel misses out on Missouri mobile licenses

When Missouri’s market launches, it will mark the 29th state where DraftKings operates, joining nearby Kansas, which legalized sports betting in 2022.

The Missouri Gaming Commission did not issue alicense to FanDuel, despite the company spending millions to support the state’s legalization campaign. Instead, FanDuel announced that it secured market access through a partnership with St. Louis CITY SC.
