Changes made in the mid lane

Mid-lane has been in need of changes for quite some time with ADC’s such as Tristana and Kai’Sa heavily dominating the conversation specifically in competitive play. Tristana for the majority of the season has been a powerhouse in the mid lane, and it seems Riot is looking to push the Yordle back into the bottom lane. The nerfs to Tristana will still see her be a late-game powerhouse, but significantly weaker against Mages, meaning we should see far less Tristana mid.

Two champions that terrorized Worlds 2022 were Sylas and Akali. The Assassins were the first and third most picked champions in mid at the World Championship and it seems that Riot is gearing up to have them feature once again. Sylas is seeing a big increase in his base mana while Akali’s energy cost will be much lower while an increase in damage.
