Last month The Pokémon Company and Legendary Entertainmentreached a dealfor a new film franchise based aroundDetective Pikachu. According toVariety, the project has found its writers, too: Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch.
Perlman worked onThorand co-wroteGuardians of the Galaxywith director James Gunn. She’s also writing the remake of Jim Henson (and David Bowie’s) cult-classicLabyrinth, co-writing the upcomingCaptain Marvelmovie, and worked on theBlack Widowmovie that voice-of-Solid-Snake David Hayter is writing.
Hirsch is the creator of the Disney animeGravity Falls.
