We ’ve seen community of interests bike services before , but theSocial Bikessetup coming to NYC puts a unique twist on the idea : the whole organisation is build onto each bike , allowing you to leave it anywhere when you ’re done with it .
Rather than having you clean up and drop off bikes from central alkali stations , the Social Bike System offers bike with big GPS units fit out with a cellular gadget and a ringlet . You use your telephone set to go after down the nearest free cycle , unlock it using said phone and tantalise away . When you ’re done , you just operate it back up somewhere else for someone else to take .
There will be base stations , too , but the ability to leave a bicycle anywhere make this much more commodious . It ’s a cool system , one I ’m activated to try out when it comes to my fair metropolis this fall . [ Social BikesviaGadget Lab ]
