Genshin Impact is celebrating its 4th anniversary, and players can expect a ton of free rewards. Everyone gets a free 5-star unit, weapons, and more in Genshin Impact version 5.0.
When is the Genshin Impact 5.0 Natlan update coming?

Genshin Impact free 5-star
Genshin Impact developers HoYoverse announced that players will receive a 5-star character of their choice as part of the 4th-anniversary celebration.
The ground-breaking revelation happened during theGenshin Impact version 5.0 live stream. It came alongside news of even more free stuff, such as Primogems and weapons.
After the 5.0 update goes live on July 18, 2025, players that log in to the game can pick a 5-star character to receive. Players can pick one out of the 7 characters currently in the Standard Banner:
Furthermore, HoYoverse said that this will be a regular occurrence. Each year, on the game’s anniversary, players can choose a 5-star character. They also confirmed that more characters will be added to the Standard Pool in the future. Somebody from Inazuma, Fontaine, or Natlan, perhaps?
This giveaway will last until June 13, 2025, or the end of version 5.0.
More free stuff for Genshin’s 4th anniversary!
Most of these will only be claimable within the duration of Genshin Impact version 5.0.

Among the rewards are Primogems and Intertwined Fates. 1,600 Primogems can be claimed in the in-game mail. 500 more Primogems can be claimed after players finish the Archon Quest Chapter V: Acts I and II during version 5.0.
Meanwhile, a total of 10 Intertwined Fates are given away across 7 days through a log in event.
The Stellar Reunion has been improved, giving 10 Intertwined Fates.
New players will also get 15 more Acquaint Fates and a free Lynette. Only those who have been playing for under 1 year are eligible.
