It remains to be seen how the community will react to these free games, but it seems as though the free PS Plus games for August 2019 will avoid the controversy that plagued the free PS Plus games for July 2019. As some may recall, July’s lineup of free games wasoriginally set to includePro Evolution Soccer 2019, only for Sony to swap it out in exchange forDetroit: Become Humanfor unknown reasons. All we do know about that situation is thatPro Evolution Soccer 2019publisher Konami didn’t make the call to switch the free games.
If there is any controversy about the free PS Plus games for August 2019, then it would likely stem more from fans being disappointed that the games aren’t the “leaked” titles that appeared earlier this month. A couple of weeks ago, an error on the PlayStation Store led people to believe that thefree games for August 2019 would beEA Sports UFC 3andStar Wars Battlefront 2, but we now know that’s not the case.
Regardless of one’s feelings on the free PS Plus games for August 2019, PS4 owners will have a chance to download them beginning August 5. In the meantime, the free PS Plus games for July 2019 should be available to download until then.
