Fortnite has been stealing the spotlight since its release in 2017. The popular battle royale has broken various records with consistency in holding a high player base. In Playstation’s recent blog post on their website, they revealed that Fortnite was the most downloaded free-to-play game on Playstation in April 2022.
Fortnite maintains top spot in Playstation’s most downloaded list
Fortnite has been competing against other popular battle royales such as “Apex Legends” and “Warzone” for a while now. Both of these games also came in the top five most downloaded free-to-play games onPlaystation. Still, they did not surpass Fortnite for number one.
Apex, just having its “Apex Legends Global Series”, which was a massive $1 million prize tournament held in Sweden, has been at the top of its game. Apex currently holds itself in second place, directly below Fortnite.

“Selling compromised player accounts and cheat technologies puts people’s information at risk and ruins the experience for people who are playing fairly,” said Epic in their recent statement on the issue. “We take the illegal sale of these items seriously and we’ll pursue all available options to make sure our games remain fun, fair, and never pay-to-win.”
