FortniteSeason 6 has finally arrived, and it looks like certain aspects of theDark World theoryare true. Instead of the theme being entitled Dark World, however, it is entitled Darkness Rises, and with the rising Darkness comes a new item: the shadow stone.
A new consumable found across new sections known as corrupted areas around the battle island, the shadow stone is a unique item, as it is essentially a ‘safe mode.’ After popping this consumable, players will enter a state known as shadow form. Likely, this will come in handy for newFortniteplayers, as well as veterans in dense combat areas.
When in shadow form, players will become unable to use weapons and become invisible when stationary. However, players will be more visible when moving and leave behind a shadow trail. In this form, players also gain increased movement speed, jump height, and fall damage immunity.
Players gain a new ability known as phase while in shadow form as well. It can be activated by pressing the primary fire button, and it propels the player forward, allowing them to pass through objects. This unique ability can last up to 45 seconds but be exited early by aiming down the sights. All of this and more comes shortly after Epic Games teased a loot llama DJ, a cowgirl, and awerewolf skin for season 6.
Once the update is fully live and players drop into a changed battle island, more news is certain to pop out. Some of it may not be as strange asBTS and Jimmy Fallon doing the Fortnite dance challenge, but it definitely has our attention. As more news developers, be sure to check back here, Ranters!
