Also the biggest ever Fallout launch
Youmightnot have noticed, butFallout 4released last week. I know, I know, it was kind of snuck out and didn’t get much fanfare, so I totally won’t blame you if you somehow managed to miss it.
However, you might be interested to know that in only a week it’s managed to become one of the biggest UK launches of the year so far.

GfK Chart-Track has announced two things aboutFallout 4:firstly, it’s the biggest ever launch of aFalloutgame. Bethesda had a massive boost of popularity and was pushed into the wider public consciousness when it launchedSkyrim. Plus it’s been five years since the lastFalloutgame to make the long-time players even more eager, so this bit isn’t all that surprising.
Fallout 4has also enjoyed the third biggest launch week in the UK, behindFIFA 16andCall of Duty: Black Ops 3.FIFAhas always had an absolutely massive player base in the UK, andCall of Dutystill has more brand recognition thanFallout,so again it’s nice to have confirmed but not all that surprising.

What itdoesmean, however, is thatFallout 4has managed to overtakeThe Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainandGrand Theft Auto Vto potentially win this year’s battle of the ridiculously-too-big-to-ever-actually-finish games.
Worth noting that, as always, these charts don’t include digital versions of the games listed, and as more and more games are being bought digitally these days the rankings might be skewed slightly.

Now to see whether this popularity continues through Bethesda’s run of planned DLC forFallout 4in 2016.
