The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) breaks records in 2024: in terms of the number of participants and the level of esports competition.
As a fighting games event, Evo has a few layers — and all of them are super exciting. It is a high-stakes competition, with the top-tier qualifiers for the main games. It is a platform for big announcements, from new characters to new games. And it’s a celebration of the community, where thousands gather to play and have fun, and millions share the vibe online. Evo is absolutely special for the fighting games community (FGC)! And Evo 2024 confirms and strengthens this reputation.

Dragon Ball FighterZ
INZEM fell to the losers brackets after the winners semi-final vs Zane. He then defeated the same opponent to proceed to the grand final.
Hikari, the DBFZ Evo 2023 champion and the DBFZ World Tour 2023-24 winner, defeated Lucar in the semi and Zane in the final. But INZEM turned out to be a tough opponent.
INZEM reset the bracket and then won the tournament. INZEM is the DBFZ Evo 2023 champion congratulations! This victory is a big step towards the goal INZEM mentions in his interview for esports.gg.

The King of Fighters XV
Xiaohai proved that The King of Fighter XV is still the main game for him (even if he reaches top placements in Street Fighter 6 too). In theKOF XV Evo 2024 tournament, the player defeated three mighty opponents: SCORE, Tamago, and E.T.
Xiaohai is The King of Fighters XV Evo 2024 champion. He got an invite to the SNK World Championship 2024.
Mortal Kombat 1
SonicFox had two confident victories in the top 6 part of theMK1 Evo 2024 tournamentand one super tough. First, the legendary player defeated MKJavierMK in the semi and Zeeus in the final.
Nicolas fell to the losers after the semi-final and eventually proceeded to the grand final. After three first games, he reached the match point situation, but SonicFox did not let the opponent reset the bracket. They won two games and the match.
SonicFox is the MK1 Evo 2024 champion. It’s the 7th such title for them.

Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes]
Senaru defeated Oushuu-Hittou in the winners semi-final and then Mo.Sin in the final.The grand final against Mo.Sin was more difficult for Senaru. He won two first games, but then the opponent attempted a reverse sweep and was close to it. In the decisive game, Senaru won the match and the wholeUNI2 Evo 2024 tournament.
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
MOV and Issei played in the winners final and MOV got a clear victory. Issei had a close match vs Chi-Rithy and proceeded to the grand final too. The player even reset the bracket in match 1. Then, MOV recovered and won the tournament.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
Aarondamac defeated Vermillion in the semi-final and faced Tororo from Japan in the winners final. That was a close fight, and Aarondamac proceeded to theGBVSR Evo 2024grand final.
Tororo had a tough match vs Kojicoco. The opponent was close to closing the series, but his own mistake did not let Kojicoco succeed (a drop of a seemingly easy combo in a crucial moment).
In the decisive match, Aarondamac performed a reverse sweep and won the tournament.
Aarondamac is the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Evo 2024 champion. Congratulations!
Guilty Gear Strive
Nitro fell to the losers brackets after the winners final against tatuma. But he defeated RedDitto in the losers final and still proceeded to the grand final.
The American player reset the bracket with a clear 3:0, and then Nitro won a super close grand final reset.
Nitro is the Guilty Gear Strive Evo 2024 champion. Congratulations!
This victory is a remarkable transition of the player from DBFZ toGGST.

The main fight of theSF6 Evo 2024tournament was between Punk and Big Bird. First, they faced each other in the winners final, and Punk won 3:0.
In the losers brackets, Big Bird defeated EndingWalker to play vs Punk again, in the grand final. He won the first match, but then Punk recovered and adapted — to win in a very close grand final reset.
