The European Space Agency ’s Automated Transfer Vehicle Georges Lemaître will soon deliver over 2,600 kg of dry lading to the International Space Station — and even pack it looks kinda sport .
The slyness will take off , lash to Ariane 5 , from Europe ’s Spaceport in Kourou , French Guiana later on this class . Packing is no mean feat , either , given the force the faculty will endure during launching . TheESA explains what ’s involved :
All detail are placed in stock bags and strap tightly to the rack . The complete mental faculty is rotated to leave the technician to get at the ‘ roof ’ and ‘ floor ’ compartments that become the walls . Astronauts in the Space Station can put down the bag in quad from all sides as they be adrift in weightlessness .

The folks doing the packing are fall apart cleanroom courting to avoid contaminating the freight — which the astronauts in the ISS will be grateful for when they do n’t get some filthy little bug . [ ESA ]
