The news seems to be a surprise to not only rooter but to Rickards ’ atomic number 27 - stars and producer . In a statement , executive producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz said , “ We ’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily since time of year 1 and in those past seven years she has brought one of TV ’s most beloved characters to life . And although we ’re heartbroken to see both Emily and Felicity leave the show , we ’re entirely supportive of Emily and her future try . She will always have a family at Arrow . ”
Rickards first appeared on Arrow during the third episode , chop-chop moving up to series even for the rest of the show ’s first seven seasons . Arrow is slat to pass for eight seasons , endingafter next time of year ’s 10 - episode run , ending just after itslast big crossover .
