EA have revealed their projections for Apex Legends revenue.
The latest EA earnings report has shined a light on Apex Legends expected revenue over the next year. This insight comes amid a background of mixed fortunes for the Battle Royale game. Apex Legends has seen a decline in player numbers over the last 12 months and developer Respawn recently announced a wave of layoffs across the game and other projects.
However, the report also restates EA’s commitment to carrying Apex Legends forwards. There has been a notable increase in player numbers since February 2025 and the development team are making bigger and bolder changes in each update.A recent patch was hailed as the best in the games history by players.The game has already made billions of dollars since its release.

Apex Legends revenue expected to fall
The revelation about Apex Legends revenue comes from theQ4 2025 Electronic Arts Earnings Call, that took place on May 6.This meeting shared detailed insights into the companies financial performance and plans moving forward.
“while Apex Legends' traction in line with our expectations for the past two quarters, our FY26 guide assumes an approximately 40% year over year decline in net bookings. We expect stronger headwinds in the first half of the fiscal year, followed by more moderate declines in the back half.”
The decline in revenue is not totally unsurprising.Apex Legends reached its lowest player count in over three years back in September 2024.There was also a lot ofbacklash to a change to the Battle Passwhich seems to havenot generated the additional revenue that EA were looking for.Ultimately less players means less customers spending money.
There has been a noticeable shift in the way the game is being developed. Developers have told esports.gg that they want totake more risks with the game.Recent changes have been a lot more aggressive, with bigger shifts in the meta. Additionally, the game is focused more on universal heirlooms than single legend ones.
The new strategy seems to be working. Player numbers rose significantly in February 2025 and April 2025 and early stats look good for Season 25.
If this trajectory continues, Apex Legends revenue might be better than expected. Regardless, EA have restated their commitment to the game and there are even rumours ofan Apex Legends 2.0 update.Revenue declines or not, the game is here to stay.
