DeveloperCD Projekt Red recently settled a $1.85 million lawsuitfiled byCyberpunk 2077investors following the game’s disastrous launch, which saw the game arrive in a thoroughly broken state for many players.
Originally announced withthe firstCyberpunk 2077teaser trailerback in January 2013, CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG was expected by many to be a massive leap forward for the genre following the critical and commercial success of the developer’sThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Just as CD Projekt Red has released numerous tweaks and improvements to the game following its launch, creative players have producedmods forCyberpunk 2077that have added new characters, abilities, and functionality to the game. In a move sure to be welcomed by players who found the game’s dark and dingy Afterlife nightclub to be a bit too sparse, theEnhanced Afterlifemod forCyberpunk 2077posted to Nexus Mods by user Pringles001 adds new props, a new layout, and new functionality to the neon-lit locale. Well-known to many players for featuring in several of the game’s story missions, Afterlife’s updated appearance gives it a more lifelike and lived-in look.
To make Afterlife both more visually appealing and functional forCyberpunk 2077players, theEnhanced Afterlifemod makes several changes to the digital nightclub. The first revision to the gritty gathering spot is the addition of numerous items and other visual enhancements to Rogue’s corner, with newly-added plants and props giving the area some visual flair. The mod also makes it easier for players to grab grub and guns on the go, adding working vending machines for snacks and a fully functional armory, though the armory requires the installation of additional mods to work.
WhileCyberpunk 2077may have missed the mark with its initial release, a series of patches from CD Projekt Red and a steady stream of user-made mods are slowly helping to change gamers’ perceptions of the troubled title.
