CS:GO breaks player record

According toSteamDB, the game hit its new peak in the early hours of the morning, with eager fans awaiting the most famous esports tournament in the world. CS:GO is currently the most-played game on the Steam platform, and holds the number two spot in top sellers (with an estimated 326.09 million downloads).

CS:GO’s previous peak player number was set in April 2020, when the game reached 1,308,983 players. Since then, the game fell below an average of one million players for much of 2021, before surging in 2022, and reaching this new peak today. However, that up-and-down of players doesn’t mean CS:GO was going through a rough patch by any means.

It’s been over a decade, and despite imitators and pretenders, CS:GO is very much the king of esports.
