Based on the roadmap Infinity Ward released, on day one,Modern Warfarewill be receiving two multiplayer maps, a map for Ground War, at least one Gunfight map, two multiplayer modes, an operator, and two weapons. Among the returning crowd is the multiplayer map Rust, perhaps best known for its aptitude at hosting one versus one sniper duels. Despite beinga fan-favoriteCall of Dutymap, Rust hasn’t seen a true return to the main series sinceModern Warfare 2released over a decade ago. While it seems to have undergone some cosmetic and layout changes, its architecture remains easily recognizable. The other multiplayer map, Atlas Superstore, is a new map set in a large warehouse-looking store, which previously appeared in theModern WarfareSpec Ops mission titled Operation Paladin.

Forthe massive team battle mode, Ground War, the map Zhokov Boneyard is being added, set in the familiar locale of an airplane boneyard. Meanwhile, the much smaller in scale mode Gunfight will be receiving a map called Bazaar, which takes place in a small marketplace.

Gunfight will also be receiving a tournament mode, in which thirty-two teams of two will compete in a tournament bracket for rewards. Another mode is theCall of DutyLeague Ruleset Playlist, which plays likea competitiveCall of Dutygame. As well, the Grau 5.56, a variant ofBlack Ops 2’sSWAT-556 will be added, along with the Striker 45 inModern Warfare.

One last addition, another treat forModern Warfare 2fans, is thatSimon “Ghost” Rileywill be making his return as a new operator. Along with him will be a slew of content, which should hopefully be enough to makeModern Warfare’scommunity happy.
