BLAST Austin Major format and teams
The BLAST Austin Major is the pinnacle of competitive Counter-Strike, now with an expanded 32-team format across four stages of competition. The world’s best teams were directly invited to each stage dependent on their ranking in Valve’s Regional Standings (VRS) — from the best in Stage 3, then the next best in Stage 2.
The remaining teams qualified to the major via regional qualifiers with slots distributed between the three major regions (Europe, the Americas, and Asia), then split into smaller sub-regions.
