Jackson Pollock is one of my favored artists — the deepness and delicateness of his paint dribbling is simply sublime . Argentinian art collective Mondongo carries on his aesthetic legacy but without paint . or else , they expend Plasticine — melted molding clay .
Mondongo—”tripe ” for those of you who do n’t speak Spanish ( * raises hand*)—consists of Juliana Laffitte , Manuel Mendanha and Agustina Picasso . The trio actually specialize in the Plasticine medium , carefully melting and molding the stuff into extraordinary slice like that above . Just look at the nuances in semblance — that ’s not something you obtain in a Play - Doh set , not even the 36 - colour packs .
Mondongo ’s raw works are being displayed at Art Basel Miami later on this week if you live in the domain . Be warned though , a fortune of their prowess borderline on smut — you’ll know it when you see it — so leave the kids at household . [ Collossal ]
