Ever since 2K Marin’s announcement of anX-COMremakelast year, fans of the MS-DOS strategy original were horrified that it had taken the form of a first-person shooter format, albeit with significant strategy elements. Then, another title was announced –XCOM: Enemy Unknown, under the management of Firaxis Games, almost as if to placate those fans. Well here at Destructoid, we’ve have been keeping tabs on the project – from its initial announcement back inJanuarytodeveloper diaries, achatwith the developers about bringing an old PC strategy favourite onto modern consoles, and a mammothpreviewfrom Herr Sarkar.

After all that, watching this 4 minute VT about theArt ofXCOM: Enemy Unknownmay feel a bit insignificant in comparison. However, there are still some fun to be had in seeing a snippet of the creative process in all its curvy glory. Fans of the colours green, grey, and blue will also pleased with what they see here. It’s also nice to see that Art Director Greg Foertsch talks about drawing inspiration from the traumatic experiences he had with playing the original, and then adding his own spin on his designs.
